At Munditia Studio we believe the way a garment is made matters as much as how it turns out. So we work with production that is considerate of the people who do it and of the place it is done in.

As far as we can, we make locally and support people whose work carries craft, experience and an eye for detail. We work with local craftspeople, tailoring workshops and artists whose work is a natural part of how we design.
Every garment comes from our own patterns, drawn with an eye to proportion, comfort and long wear. We pay the same attention to the making itself — from the precision of the sewing and the construction to every detail that decides the quality and the life of the piece.
Our partners are makers and suppliers who give their people fair working conditions and fair pay.
At every step we look for the balance between the highest possible quality, precise craft, a long life for the piece, and consideration for people and for the environment.
Materials
Making a garment begins with choosing the material.
Our collections are made from carefully chosen premium materials, where we look not only at how they appear and how they feel against the skin, but above all at their quality, their origin, their durability and the way they are made.

We work mainly with natural materials — linen, organic cotton, merino wool and organic cashmere. We choose materials with the potential to last for years and to age gracefully along with the garment.
In choosing them we look for partners who share our insistence on quality and on responsibility. Where we can, we prefer materials with recognised certifications and standards that give more transparency about their origin and their making — OEKO-TEX®, Organic Cotton, or the cashmere certifications.
Cashmere
Cashmere is, to us, the rarest thing nature offers. So in choosing it we look for the best there is — from the origin of the fibre to the last step of its making.

Our cashmere garments are made from premium organic M.ORO cashmere yarns, whose fibres come from Inner Mongolia — a region with ideal natural conditions for raising cashmere goats and a long tradition of working one of the finest natural fibres in the world. It is the harsh climate that gives the goats their naturally fine, warm undercoat, from which the exceptionally soft cashmere fibre comes.
The whole story of the material matters to us. The cashmere comes from organic herds, where the animals' natural conditions, responsible land management and the fragile ecosystem of the Mongolian pastures are all taken care of. For our yarns we choose materials meeting high internationally recognised standards and certifications, among them GOTS, OEKO-TEX®, SFA, the Good Cashmere Standard® (GCS), OCS, GRS, RWS and ISO.
The making is led by the purity of the material and precise work. Every step — selecting and cleaning the fibre, combing, dyeing, spinning and the finished yarn — decides its softness, its strength and its life.
We choose cashmere because it holds together the qualities we care about: exceptional softness, lightness, warmth and natural beauty. It is a material that needs no excess. Its worth lies in the fibre itself, in the craft, and in the time put into it.
For Munditia, good cashmere is more than a luxury material. It is a commitment to choose the best of the best and to make from it a garment that will hold its place in a wardrobe for years.
Tencel™
Tencel™ is a fine plant-based fibre made from wood cellulose. We are drawn to its lightness, its silken softness and the natural way it falls, which lets a garment look elegant and still be easy to wear every day.

It breathes, handles moisture well, and feels smooth and fresh against the skin. Its softness suits sensitive skin, and it combines beautifully with other natural fibres.
We choose Tencel™ for the way it joins softness, comfort and a natural character. It is a material that can be quietly luxurious and stay light and unaffected at the same time.
Merino wool
Merino wool is remarkable for its natural softness, its warmth and its way of regulating temperature. In the cold it warms; when it is warmer it carries excess heat and moisture away, which is what makes it comfortable across a day.

It is light, soft and pleasant on the skin. Its natural antibacterial properties keep odours down and let a piece be worn again without frequent washing.
Merino is also breathable, elastic and hard-wearing, and with proper care it keeps its qualities and its looks for a long time. Those natural properties make it one of the most versatile materials we use at Munditia Studio.
Linen
Linen is a material that holds its value over time. It is light, naturally breathable and pleasant on the skin, which is what makes it feel fresh and comfortable.

What makes it exceptional is also its character. Linen has a natural texture that softens with wearing and washing and takes on a beautiful patina. A garment becomes softer, more personal and more pleasant to wear as the years pass.
The linen fibre is also unusually strong. With proper care, a garment in good linen can stay in a wardrobe for years — and rather than losing its beauty, it gains it.
So we don't think of linen as a material for one season. It is an investment in a naturally beautiful, lasting piece you can wear again and again, and whose worth shows itself more clearly with time.
Cotton
It is soft, breathable and pleasant on the skin — the kind of comfort you appreciate every day.

It is a versatile natural fibre that gives garments of very different characters, from light pieces for every day to firmer cloth. Its simplicity and range make cotton pieces easy to combine and a timeless part of a wardrobe.
In good cotton we value its naturalness and its resilience. With proper care it keeps its shape and its qualities for a long time.
In choosing it we prefer cotton with GOTS and OEKO-TEX® certification, which gives more certainty about where the material comes from and how it was made.
